Gelato, an Italian dessert similar in taste to ice cream, is a dessert that originated in Italy. Gelato is typically made with fresh fruits and served with a soft consistency.
You don't need much, just these ingredients and your ice cream machine. You will get a delicious dessert that your whole family can enjoy. For making homemade gelato, you will require a commercial gelato equipment.
- 2 cups milk, 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup powdered milk
- 8 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups fruit
Before you start preparing your ingredients, double-check that all liquid is frozen. You can shake the container to ensure the liquid is moving back and forth.
To heat the powdered milk, sugar, and milk, you will need a large saucepan with a thick bottom. To prevent the milk from burning on its bottom, stir it continuously while it heats up on medium heat.
Now it's time for you to crack the eggs. The egg yolks are all you need, so feel free to separate the eggs as you wish. Use a mixer, or a small handheld mixer at low speed to beat the yolks.
Once you have added the eggs, you will need to continue stirring the mixture. The heat should be turned up to medium. Once the mixture has thickened, heat it to 170-180 degrees. Mix in the vanilla and immediately transfer the mixture to a bowl. Let it cool in the fridge for at least 6 hours.
Before you can freeze your gelato mix, you will need to take out the gelato and add the fruits. Place the liquid in your freezer to form a creamy dessert.
Making gelato can be very fun, but usually, the best thing to do is leave it to the experts.
