Different Treatments For Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is a condition that many people struggle with at some point in their lives. It can be incredibly frustrating, as it can significantly impact daily life and even quality of life.  There are a few different types of treatments for hyperhidrosis.

Some people require only lifestyle changes, while others may need medication or surgery. The most common methods for treating hyperhidrosis are by using a topical cream, pills and laser therapy.

Topical Creams:

The most common type of treatment for hyperhidrosis is topical creams. These creams work by reducing the amount of sweat produced by the skin. Most topical creams are applied daily to the skin on the arms, chest, back, and neck.

Some topical creams also contain chemicals that can temporarily stop sweating. Topical creams usually take about two weeks to start working and should be continued until the desired results are achieved.

Pills:

Another type of treatment for hyperhidrosis is pills. These pills work by stopping the production of sweat from the body's glands. Pills typically take four to six weeks to start working and must be taken every day for several months to achieve full results. Side effects can include headache, drowsiness, and mood swings.

Laser Therapy:

Laser therapy is another common method for treating hyperhidrosis. This type of therapy uses a laser to heat up the sweat glands and destroy them. This technique is typically used for people who have severe hyperhidrosis and have not responded to other treatments.
